Like many photographers, I’ve had a camera almost as long as I can remember. I am the daughter of the late award-winning news photojournalist Jack Cryan, so I guess storytelling is in my blood. But it wasn't until after I had earned a BA in Communications/Broadcasting that I went to The New England School of Photography and eventually started my own business, which has been going strong for over 15 years. I've been lucky to meet so many people I otherwise wouldn't have had the pleasure to meet.
I've earned the designations of Master Photographer, Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer from Professional Photographers of America. I serve as a PPA Councilor for MA, and a Certification Liaison. I am an active member and Past President of Professional Photographers of MA, and have won numerous awards in state, regional and International Print Competition. What does all that mean to you? It means I continually strive to educate myself about my craft through classes, seminars and annual Print Competition so I can better deliver for my clients.
My approach to photography is simple... I try to see what makes you - you. I'm told I make even the most camera shy feel comfortable-whether it's for a professional headshot for business, senior portraits for your upcoming graduate or family portraits. There's nothing like seeing the sparkle in the eyes of a child or a touching moment between parent and child .... I feel fortunate to be able to capture that. I work extensively with high school seniors, creating portraits that represent such a great time in their lives. I love hearing their plans for college or life after high school, and we have fun creating images that truly show the unique person they are becoming. I am completely and thoroughly a dog person at heart and get super excited when I hear that your furry family members want to be part of your session. I host a Dog Days Pet Portrait FUNdraiser every spring and it's non-apologetically my favorite time of year. :-)
When I look back through images I have created in over 15 years of being in business, I am proud to know that I have contributed to a tangible record of your family's story. It is my true pleasure to 'freeze time' for just a bit..... :-)
I am located in North Easton outside of the town center in a 1,500 square foot loft style studio across from the historic Governor Oliver Ames Estate, and travel to many locations in MA and New England. If you REALLY want me to go to the Caribbean, I can be persuaded......
*Thanks to Paula Swift Photography of Sudbury for the capture of me and my fur baby Jenny.
